WA in Focus started as a Facebook group where people posted what was actually happening across the state, usually before anyone else got to it.
This website is the home for those stories now. Written for people who live here, and for nobody else.

Court outcomes and police operations, plus whatever else is happening on the day.
Community safety and council decisions, and the people caught up behind them.
Most newsrooms ask who you are before they listen. Ours doesn't ask at all.
A tip needs a message and nothing else. The name and email fields are optional, and nothing you send is tied to a login, so there is no profile for anyone to look up later.
Tips land in a locked editor inbox and only our editor can open it. Nothing comes out of that inbox unless we decide a story should run.
Files you attach go into private storage, where they stay. Our editor opens them through a link that stops working after seven days.
Every tip gets a reference code. Bring that code back to the page and you can read our reply. It is the only way we can answer you without ever learning who you are.
Jordan Vale and Claire Lawson are both pseudonyms. Writing under a pen name keeps our reporters out of the frame, and it keeps the people who talk to us out of it too.
The Facebook group is still where the conversation happens. If you've seen something worth looking at, tell us.
